From the Bookshelf #7
* * *
Just a little side note to my From the Bookshelf post series, I'll be including the genre and a small synopsis of the books as well as my star rating, just so that in case you want to read it, there's a little more info there for you.
Invisibility by Andrea Cremer and David Levithan
Star Rating: 4
Genre: Fantasy, Romance
Synopsis: A romance between a boy who's been cursed with invisibility and the one girl who has the ability to see him will send them down a path of dangerous curses and deadly consequences.
Teardrop by Lauren Kate
Star Rating: 4
Genre: Fantasy, Romance
Synopsis: The first in a new trilogy, this is an epic saga of heart-stopping romance, devastating secrets, and dark magic.
Time Between Us by Tamara Ireland Stone
Star Rating: 4
Genre: Fantasy, Romance
Synopsis: In 1995 Evanston, Illinois, 16-year-old Anna's perfectly normal life is turned upside-down when she meets Bennett, whose ability to travel through space and time creates complications for them both.
Unwanteds: Island of Silence by Lisa McMann
Star Rating: 4
Genre: Fantasy
Synopsis: I'm going to avoid putting one here because of spoilers. Just know that it's book #2 in the Unwanteds series. It centers around the idea of what if all the artists and creators were sent away to be eliminated, and only the physically strong and necessary were kept instead?
The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones and City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare
Star Rating:
City of Bones - 3.5
City of Ashes - 4
Genre: Fantasy
Synopsis (of Book 1: City of Bones): When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder—much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. This is Clary’s first meeting with the Shadowhunters, and it will not be her last.
That is all.
Cheers,
Seana
