Balancing Act
I've never had a good sense of balance. Believe it or not, I used to do gymnastics when I was little, and even then I was always a little wobbly on the balance beam.
For most of my life, it's been a balancing act. Balancing school with things at home. Balancing time for doing absolutely nothing but watching YouTube videos with actually sitting down and being productive. Balancing blogging with the rest of my life.
And at first, it wasn't a problem. I was younger, and my schoolwork was less hectic and took much less of the time that I could be using to blog and write. But now I'm a sophomore in high school. Homework isn't just a few math problems anymore. It's combined of all of my classes, and most of those have homework every night. It's much harder to balance things when the things you wanna balance have gotten heavier.
This post isn't so much a "PLEASE FORGIVE MY INSOLENCE" post. It's more of a little heads-up of why posts have been not completely on schedule. In my "About Me" tab you can see that my schedule includes posts on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, but I'm here to tell you that that schedule is not set and stone. Those are days that I will try my hardest to have things up for you, but I can't promise that there will always be posts then. I have a life outside of this blog, and sometimes I have to put that first before blogging. I hope you understand, and I'm really sorry that it has to be like this.
During my less busy days, I will probably have more posts for you to read, and on more busy days, vice versa. That's the way it'll have to be for a while, so I hope you'll be okay with that and we can just roll with it.
Thanks so much for your patience! Also: let me know if there's any post topics that you want me to cover and I'll be happy to take those ideas into consideration.

DeleteAnd now for an American schooling lesson just for you! But in all seriousness, the British school system confuses me as well.
In America, we have Elementary, Middle School, High School, and finally College. There's a few grades before Elementary that you go to school for when you're around 4 or 5. Elementary is grades 1-5 and you start at around 5 or 6 years old, and you finish 5th grade at around age 10 or 11.
And then on to Middle School. That's grades 6-8. You start at around 11 or 12 years old, and then by 8th grade you're probably 14 years old. After that, you're up to high school, which is grades 9-12. Those grades also go by the names of Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior. You're a freshman at age 15(ish, depending on your birthday), Sophomores are usually 16, Juniors are 17, and Seniors top it off with being 18.
So if you were able to follow along with all that craziness, basically I'm in my second year of high school and I'll be turning sixteen this year. (: How does the British school system work?
I forget if I've ever commented on your blog (I'm irrationally shy when it comes to that), but I've been reading it for about two years, and I really love it! You're so creative, funny, and inspirational~

Speaking of, I...guess...I should get working now... *dramatic sigh* My teachers have that lovely mindset in which they think they're the /only/ teacher who assigns work, and thus feel it's fair to assign an hour. And then I end up with six hours of homework xD

Agreed! Political debates over energy laws are only mildly interesting if you see them on television; when you have to find five different ones and summarize the two hours of video, well. Not interesting at all.
I'll definitely cover the award in a post sometime, but it just won't be right away since there's only so much Liebster one can handle at a time. (:
DeleteIt's about as bad as being told to watch a video and not only summarize it in essay form, but to also react to it through another paragraph and maybe throw in a paper on the side. (Thank goodness my homework isn't quite this bad.)
SEANA we can definitely roll with it. Blogging sometimes has to take the back seat because of annoying people at school who seem to think we should study polynomials and take unreasonable offence when we don't hand in what they call "home-work" on time. But whenever you have time to post, Hogwarts will always be here to welcome you home ... or something like that.

(: Those dreadful people who think that inverse variation and bunsen burner knowledge is going to be used in the future can be a little irritating sometimes, but what can you do?
