Hi everyone!
I'm Sarah from The Choir Geek Chronicles and today I have the pleasure of guest posting here at
The Totally Insane Writer. Thanks, Seana!
Well, here we go!
Have you ever experienced those moments when you just think, "Yeah, I'm a writer"? (Or
babysitter, dancer, actor, artist, you get the picture.) Well, I was thinking the other day, and these
just came to me. Some of these have happened to me, some of them I just made up. Enjoy!
You know you are a writer when:
*You look at the clock and its two AM and you've been writing since 9.
*You find yourself correcting your mom's e-mails.
*When someone says "Me and him are..." or "Me and her went..." and you have to bite your
tongue HARD to keep from correcting them. And then you correct them anyways.
*Your pet peeves include people not using proper capitalization, punctuation or grammar.
*When you find that you've read all of your fifteen library books in three days or less...
*When you are talking to a friend and they have no clue what half of the words you say mean.
*When shoveling the snow, doing the dishes or hearing a song gives you an idea for an entire
story.
*When your nightmares consist of forgetting to save the story you are typing.
*When your computer crashes and you pray that auto save kicked in.
*When you are struck by inspiration just when you are about to fall asleep, so you get up and
write down your ideas.
*When you'd rather write than eat or sleep.
*When your favorite class is English
*When the only school club you're interested in is the Creative Writing club
*When the teacher announces that the assignment for that week is to write a paper and you cheer
while everyone else groans.
Now it's your turn!
Fill in the blank: You know you’re a writer when ___________. Feel free to replace writer with
anything you can think of. I can't wait to read what you all come up with!

DeleteOoooooh correcting your mom's emails :P GUILTY! And isn't it annoying how the inspiration always comes while you're laying in bed at night?!
ReplyDeleteHmmm. You know you're a writer talking with a writer when y'all are discussing stuff like diseases and annoying people in your head all the time. :P
Yes, it is so annoying! Why can't inspiration strike at a more convenient time of day, say 4PM?

You know you're a writer when you wake up in the middle of the night with a stroke of brilliance, and then you either a.) fumble blindly in the dark in search of a pen, or b.) fall back asleep and hope you remember it in the morning.
