Songs

Well, I needed a song for my story, and I'm very thankful to you viewers out there who responded with fabulous options! So, without further ado, here are three song options that I was provided with. I have a favorite out of these, but I want to see what you all think.

OPTION A:

Deep down in the ocean blue
The boiling sun sinks beneath the surface
That's where we, mermaid children love to play
Until our mamas call us home with urgent voices,
Reminding us, "You don't know what evil could be
lurking there, little one."

OPTION B:

Sunset, orange and pink,
paints the sky for me,
warns of coming darkness,
soon to swallow me.
Illustrates a miracle,
beautiful and bold,
never failing, yet,
soon to swallow me.

OPTION C:

Watching your hope fade away,
as the war keeps raging,
just another day.
Watching your fears take over,
as as nothing goes your way.
Watching your heart start to die,
as you hear the same old lie.

It's hard to take,
watching your heart break.
I can't stand to see,
that you can't be free,
of your burden.

Listening to your voice cry out,
as you can't understand
what this is all about.
Listening to your cries,
as the world around you dies.
Listening to the pain,
as your fears reign again.

It's hard to take,
watching your heart break.
I can't stand to see,
that you can't be free,
of your burden.

I'm sorry, oh so sorry.
I'm sorry, oh I'm sorry.
I tried to change
the world for you.
But I could not do it.

I'm sorry.

Option C is the longer of the three, but I think it sounds sad and mysterious and that fits nicely with the plot and the character who sings it. But let me know in a comment of your favorite!

  1. Hey! I wrote A and B! Yay me! But anyway, I really like C but it doesn't seem to have anything to do with a sunset or mermaids.... It seems like a battle scene to me, like you see in the old movies when the soldiers wake up to the sound of bombs and they all think of their families back home... I don't know but C (which a LOVE even more than mine) seems to be more geared toward a war book. I don't feel like a girl would be singing this song at every sunset, or maybe I'm just not seeing it like everybody else does! Oh and also can you set up a pole about it sometime soon? Thanks!
